Oud is a pear-shaped stringed instrument with 11 or 13 strings combined in 5 or 6 cycles. An 11th-century musician, singer and composer Hassan bin Al-Haytham described an early description of "modern" oud: in his compendium of music, it contains the arts and prayers of mourners.
The Nay , is an end-blown flute that figures prominently in Middle Eastern music. In some of these musical traditions, it is the only wind instrument used. The ney has been played continually for 4,500–5,000 years, making it one of the oldest musical instruments still in use.
